I love motorbiking. I have recently returned from the Himalayas where I was documenting a 1400km journey made by over 30 people on 350cc Royal Enfield Bullets. hey..I am from India and I try traveling to Leh every year. Yes, the place is outof this world. Last year (2011) I couldn’t complete the journey and was stuck mid-way and had to return..I have copied your link for further reading and will surely comment back again!

Were you in Jomson by any chance? The geography looks hauntingly familiar as I hiked from Jomson to the bottom of the La Thorong pass setting up medical clinics along the way. Great photos and of course, you had stunning scenery to work with!

There’s a reason why they are called mighty Himalayas, the final frontier! I have been to those terrain, not on a bike though, and you are correct the landscape is completely out of this world, weather could be hostile too, I am sure you must have got a taste of it too. Himalayas has been one of the most isolated place on earth and those are the best places I want to visit someday. I never had left my hometown country Philippines before but wishing I could tour around the world. Amazing shot!

True beauty can only be experience by motorbike. As an avid rider myself, nothing could take away the inner peace experienced while on a motorbike. While I have never experience world travels, I have discovered local treasures that many miss through normal travel methods. The wonders of this world can only be truly experienced with wind rushing through your hair…

I have been to the Himalayas. Once before and then after marriage. First time for a trek, the second time it was more of a trip. Wonderful place to shoot. Especially the upper reaches – Leh, Ladakh, and the Kashmir Valley.

Truly haimalayas are the greatest wonders of the earth. I recently did a trekking in himalayas (sarpass) and it was amazing. Have written a blog post on the same.

Wow. I’m not familiar with the “Bullet”. At 18000 ft. did it mess with the fuel mixture? Are they injected? Your pictures are wonderful, truly transporting.

I have been crossing that piece of the world a few years ago on a bmw and that’s where I met my friend Chris, an anthorpologist from Dundee, Scotland, who is still organizing trips from Delhi to Leh across the Himalaya on sturdy Royal Enfield motorbike. i agree with you: those places make you feel on another planet. I am happy you are sharing these beautiful pictures.

Great! I absolutely love the Bullet! Had mine for 4 months travelling in India/Nepal. And did a little trip on a 500cc Enfield here in Oz. Wonderful way to travel (but prefer my bicyle for long-term) Great photos!

Great pictures. When I first read the title and saw pictures, I assumed it to be around Nepal . Though, after reading the comments I found that it was infact around Shimla. Perhaps you should travel to Nepal. You’ll love Kagbeni.

Motorbiking through Asia seems to be a popular idea–Iremember there was a Freshly Pressed concerning motorbiking through Vietnam. I’d be a bit too afraid/uncomfortable to go on a motorbiking trip like that, but it sounds like an awesome idea! And great pics.

Yep – I love motorcycling too. although i do it from the pillion seat. Just don’t have the nerve to ride any more 😦 But thats ok I still love being on the bike (Moto guzzi 850T 1974) We haven’t done anything as adventurous as this but it’s awesome reading about it and seeing the pics. we rode from Leh to Shimla… through all the remote valleys and over the vast ranges… the highest point was 18,340ft, a place called Khardung La.
